Don’t be shocked if at first you see a white cloud appear around your cleaner – this is calcium build-up being gently removed from your pool surface for a superior clean. We recommend that after 1 week you clean and check your filter as your pool has now been thoroughly cleaned. Normal routine cleaning of your filter can be conducted after this first clean.

The water flows from the base of the cleaner and is alternately diverted between the two drive tubes. The inertia of the water trapped in each drive tube provides the lifting and propelling motion of the cleaner, which may result in a faintly audible ‘ticking’ sound. This sound will also assist in diagnosing cleaner and system issues (including your pool pump). A Kreepy Krauly is designed to work with your normal filter cycle. All you will have to do is clean the skimmer box (frequency dependent on leaf load), clean your pool pump filter (as per manufacturer’s instructions) and add chemicals to maintain your chemical balance.

This has a very simple fix, there is an air pocket in the front of the cleaner making it float or hover. You can either disconnect the cleaner from the hose and turn it upside down (under water) rotating the cleaner until the air pocket is dispelled. Alternatively, you can gently pull apart the front of the cleaner from the centre seal, under water, to release the air. We recommend your remove your cleaner and hose from the pool when Shocking or putting excessive amounts of chemicals. The rule of thumb should be, if it isn’t safe to swim in, then don’t let your cleaner ‘swim’. By removing your cleaner from the pool when performing this shock treatment, it will extend the life of your cleaner and prevent unnecessary damage and wear.
